Using the Web Editor
Creating your own web page couldn't be easier
Once you have registered for an account you will be able to create a new event listing, recruitment posting, discussion forum and of course an A-Z Listing and mini-web page.
If you have yet to register for an account and try your hand at creating a new listing you need our "Quick Start Guide". This page is a follow on explaining how to use the web editor in more detail.

1. Adding Text
- To add text to your page simply click in the white box below the button bar and start typing.
- You can also copy and paste text into the editor box from Word or other programs. Select the text and right-click to copy. Go back to the web editor, click to position the cursor where you want the text to appear and right-click to paste.
2. Editing Text
There are a limited number of text styles and colours that you can add to your page. This is to keep the One Click Away site looking consistent.
- To add bold and italics first click and drag to select the text then click the appropriate button on the tool bar.
- Experiment with different headings using the drop down menu on the left of the tool bar. Again, select the text you want to apply the heading to first.
- To remove a heading select the text and choose "Paragraph" from the drop down "Change block type" menu.
- To remove text completely select it and press the "Delete" key

Tip! Web editing software automatically puts in a double space when you start a new line. To force a single space hold down the Shift key as you press Enter (the carriage return).
3. Link to another web site
Select the text or image you want to turn into a link. Click on the "Add Hyperlink" button (see above). Type "http://" into the text box followed by the web address you want to link to (e.g. http://www.sywdt.org). Click "OK".
4. Link to an e-maiI address
Select the text or image you want to turn into a link. Click on the "Add Hyperlink" button (see above). Type "mailto:" into the text box followed by the e-mail address you want to link to (e.g. mailto:info@sywol.org). Click "OK".
5. Link to another page / event / job listing / forum you have created
If you have already created other pages or listings (see the Quick Start Guide) you can link to them directly from your web page.
Step 1: Select the page you want to link to. Click on the "Link Library" button at the foot of the editor. A new window will open listing the pages and listings you have created on the left.- Click on the page you want to link to - it's filename will appear in the right hand window. Click on OK to select this page or listing as the target of your link.
- Step 2: Add the link to your web page. In the web editor click and drag to select the text you want to use as a link. Click on the "Add Hyperlink" button (see above). The text will now be underlined and will link to the selected page or listing.
To remove a link simply click and drag to select it then click the "Add Hyperlink" button to remove.
6. Adding an Image
Important! Before adding an image ensure it is the right size for your web page (no larger than 300 pixels by 600 pixels) using your personal image editing software e.g. Adobe Photoshop. You must also ensure the image filename has no spaces or odd characters (e.g. symbols) in it.
- Step 1: Upload the image to your Image Library. Click on the "Image Library" button at the foot of the editor (see above). A new window will open listing any images you have already uploaded plus the option to "ADD NEW" on the left.
- Click on "ADD NEW" and then "Browse" to select the image from your computer. When the image is selected click on "Continue". The image will be uploaded to your web space and will now appear in the left hand panel under "ADD NEW".
- Step 2: Select the image to insert into your page. Click on the image filename in the left hand panel. You will be shown a preview of the image in the right hand panel. Use "Align" to choose whether you want the image to appear on the left or right of your page and type in a short description for the image in "Alt-text". Click "OK".
- Step 3: Insert the image on your page. In the web editor click to position the cursor where you want the image to appear. Click the "Add Image" button on the toolbar (see above).
To remove an image simply click on it to select and press the delete key.
7. Adding a link to a file
There may be occasions when you want to link to a Word, PDF or other file from your page. For example, You may want to include an application form, brochure or factsheet about your organisation.
Important! Before uploading a file ensure the filename has no spaces or odd characters (e.g. symbols) in it.
- Step 1: Upload the file to your Link Library. Click on the "Link Library" button at the foot of the editor (see above). A new window will open listing any pages and files you have already created or uploaded plus the option to "ADD NEW" on the left.
- Click on "ADD NEW" and then "Browse" to select the file from your computer. When the file is selected click on "Continue". The file will be uploaded to your web space and will now appear in the left hand panel under "ADD NEW".
- Step 2: Select the file to insert into your page. Click on the file you want to link to - it's filename will appear in the right hand window. Click on OK to select this file as the target of your link.
